Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) at Holistic Psychology
At Holistic Psychology, we are proud to offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) — an evidence-based, legally sanctioned treatment that blends the power of medicine with the depth of psychotherapy. In partnership with a licensed medical provider, we create an integrated healing experience that addresses both psychological and physiological readiness, supporting transformational change in a safe and supportive environment.
How Our Program Works
Our KAP program follows a two-step assessment process to ensure the highest standard of safety and appropriateness:
Psychological Intake Assessment (Free through 2025)
Conducted by a licensed psychologist, this session evaluates psychological appropriateness for KAP, exploring mental health history, readiness for psychedelic-assisted work, and therapeutic goals.Medical Evaluation (Included in treatment package)
If you are deemed a good psychological candidate, you will then meet with our collaborating medical provider for a physiological safety evaluation, ensuring you can safely receive ketamine via intramuscular (IM) administration.
Why KAP Works
Based on clinical research and our experience in the field, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy offers three key benefits:
Short-Term Antidepressant Effects
Many people experience rapid relief in mood within hours of a ketamine session, lasting for days to a week. When sessions are spaced weekly as part of a full course of treatment, these effects can build on one another for longer-lasting benefit.Transformative Experiences
For some, the subjective experience of ketamine can unlock deeply “stuck” psychological material, shift perspective, open the heart, or catalyze profound personal meaning.A Neuroplastic Window for Change
In the days following a session, the brain enters a more flexible, learning-ready state. This is an optimal time to install meaningful new habits, process insights, and make tangible life changes. Planned integration sessions within this window help ensure the benefits extend into daily life.
The KAP Experience
FDA-approved medication: Ketamine has decades of safe clinical use and an expanding body of peer-reviewed research supporting its effectiveness for depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other conditions — especially when combined with psychotherapy.
Specialized psychological facilitation: Your sessions include skilled therapeutic guidance before, during, and after ketamine administration, helping you prepare, navigate the experience, and integrate insights into lasting change.
“Miracle-Gro” for therapy: Many clients report making major positive life shifts in a few months of KAP that might otherwise take years with traditional therapy alone.
Our Treatment Philosophy
We align our program with the evidence-based research on what is most effective:
A full course of treatment — typically 4–6 medicine sessions, each with surrounding preparation and integration therapy.
Commitment to the process — while KAP can be accelerated, meaningful change is still a marathon, not a sprint. One session alone rarely leads to lasting transformation.
Active engagement — clients are encouraged to bring commitment, curiosity, and follow-through to maximize results.
Who Can Benefit from KAP?
KAP may be helpful for individuals who are:
Living with depression, anxiety, PTSD, or other treatment-resistant conditions.
Seeking relief from emotional pain that has not responded to traditional therapy or medication.
Looking to deepen personal growth, meaning, and well-being — even without a clinical diagnosis.
Accessibility & Sliding Scale Options
To make KAP more accessible, we offer sliding scale rates for individuals with financial need or from underserved/underrepresented populations. This is not automatic — interested clients may apply by completing a short questionnaire so we can determine an adjusted rate based on defined criteria.
